India's Pullela Gopichand beat Denmark's Anders Boesen 15-11, 15-7 to enter the semi-finals of the Yonex All England Open Championship 2001, on Friday night.

In the semis on Saturday, he will meet Peter Gade Christensen of Denmark, who defeated China's Chen Yu 15-12, 15-3 in 55 minutes in the other men's singles match.

The Indian ace and world No 10 had cleared the first hurdle at the prestigious badminton championship by ousting Ronald Susilo of Singapore 15-11, 15-12 in the first round on Wednesday.
