Two Bulgarian lifters busted

The Rediff Team

Diurectics seem to be the drug of choice for Bulgarians, with two more from the lifting team being disqualified, and stripped of their Olympic medals after testing positive.

IOC executive member Jacques Rogge said that women's 48kg gold medallist Izabela Dragneva and men's 62kg bronze medallist Sevdalin Minchev will both be disqualified.

Both lifters had trace of diurectics in their drug samples. Two days earlier, Bulgary's 56kg silver medallist Ivan Ivanov was stripped of his medal after testing positive for diurectics.

The respective medals ceremonies will be redone, with a different results. Which will make it three medals ceremonies to be redone -- all involving Bulgarian lifters.
