Saba Karim, Sriram in one-day squadJavagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad, wicketkeeper Saba Karim and Tamil Nadu opener S Sriram will be part of the 14-member Indian team, led by Sourav Ganguly, for the remaining two one-day internationals against South Africa and the tri-nation series in Sharjah, beginning on March 22. Prasad, however, will not play in the fourth one-dayer at Baroda on March 17, but will be in the side for the fifth match at Nagpur on March 19. Announcing the team in Faridabad, after India lost the third one-day international to South Africa by two wickets, BCCI secretary J Y Lele said Rahul Dravid will be Ganguly's deputy. Those axed from the team are wicketkeeper Samir Dighe, T Kumaran and Amit Bhandari. While Bhandari, who was man of the recent Challenger series, did not play a single match, Kumaran made way for Srinath, who was rested following a surfeit of cricket, and Dighe for Saba Karim, who is having a great time in the Ranji Trophy with the bat and behind the stumps. The selectors, who met alongwith skipper Ganguly and coach Kapil Dev, took just 45 minutes to decide on the team.
