Security systems on go at SydneyAustralia is fully geared to meet any security threat to the Sydney Olympic Games, scheduled from September 15 to October 1. Visiting Austrialian Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs Philip Ruddock said that his government will take all possible steps to prevent any unpleasent incident during the Olympics. About preparations for the games, Ruddock said all arrangements have been made for accommodation and travel. Roads and rail systems have been upgraded. Earlier in the day, Ruddock, now on a brief tour of India, had a meeting with Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa. During the meeting he said that Australia will provide its sports facilities for training to Indian sportspersons. Dhindsa on his part said that the two countries share a common bond in the games of cricket and hockey. He also referred to some Australian cricketers' involvement in coaching Indian youngsters at the MRF Academy in Chennai. The Union Sports minister pointed out that the Australian Cricket team is scheduled to visit India early next year. Dhindsa expressed the hope that the Sydney Olympics will be a grand success. UNI
