along with Milind Soman, Riya Sen and Aryan Vaid.
How Net savvy are you on a scale of one to ten?
I'm no whiz kid, but I'm fairly comfortable. Femina presented me with a computer that I plan to use a lot more often now that I'm back from the Miss Earth contest and have the time.
What do you enjoy doing online?
Email, email and email. I love connecting online and checking mail. I usually receive about 70-80 emails in a week and now that I've just come back from the contest in the Philippines, I get a lot of mail from all the beautiful young women that I made friends with. I even get email from my chaperones.
Did the Net play any role in your contest?
Yes, I came second in an Internet contest organised by globalbeauties.com.
The Net also helped create a lot of buzz about Miss Earth with the official Web site and also because of the pages put up by Mahubay Beauties.
What's your daily routine like? How much time do you spend online?
I don't have a daily routine, but make it a point to get connected as often as I can. I don't like forwards as they waste a lot of my email time. I only make an exception for inspirational forwards from my college professor who sends me anything that she knows would interest me. Luckily, I don't get any fan email. Just postal mail.
What's your idea of a perfect Web site?
Something that's quick and very informative. Information is the key: When I was bedridden before the contest because of a slip disc, last years' Indian contestant Shamita Singha gave me printouts from different sites which I could read to be more aware during the contest.
Any favourite sites?
None in particular.
Ever been ego-surfing?
Once, with a friend. And I was surprised that people actually do surf about themselves.
Is there something you'd like to buy or sell online?
No.
What do you love most about the Internet? What do you hate about it?
I like the fact that it can allow me to stay in touch with 60 women I met for a month and actually let them know more about India. I haven't found anything to dislike about it yet.
If the Net didn't exist…
I'd be very disappointed.
