How Net savvy are you? How would you rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10?
I would rate myself a 9 out of 10. I surf, search, chat on MSN with my buddies, use the Internet to make calls. I've been connected since 1996, when I got my first email ID. I think I am as net savvy as they come, a complete Net junkie.

How often do you surf?
There used to be a point of time, I would wake up in the morning and say, "Ok, what do I do? Let me check mail!" Once I was online, then I would take off on a surfing spree. I would mostly use search engines and surf whatever caught my fancy. One day, it could be a place where I wanted to travel to, or maybe cuisines I am interested in trying out. But once I got online, there was just no way I would get off the Internet.

Your idea of a perfect Web site?
For me, Web sites are like beautiful pieces of art. A Java and HTML page fascinate me and just looking at an interestingly done Flash site, excites me. I love the Internet! But, I don't have a favourite Web site, though travel-related sites like Lonely Planet are my most visited sites.

If I am down in the dumps and cannot afford to holiday or take a break, I usually punch in the name of the place I would like to visit and then get down to surfing related sites it. It actually makes me feel good. The Internet is an extension of my day-dreamy personality. I can just get online, look at a place and start making travel plans of what I would see, which places I would visit etc.

I registered Web sites for Meghna, Sushma (her sisters) and myself three years ago. Now, I am planning to post some information about myself with lots of pictures, Flash, and sound on my Web site.

Have you ever been ego surfing?
I didn't know such a term existed. Do people actually do that all the time? Surf for information about themselves? Wow!

I tried it a year ago when I had just signed Maine Dil Tujhko Diya. I was stunned to find an incident online that I thought nobody would know about. About three years ago, Boney Kapoor had visited my house. He had a neck pain that my mother being into medical health consultation was trying to help him out with. Even something as insignificant as that was reported online. The strange thing was that it the article wasn't on an India Today or Times of India Web site, but an obscure dot-com.

What do you hate or like most about the Internet?
I like the way the Internet makes me accessible to my friends. I've used Quickcam once to have a face-to-face conversation with a pal in New York. We could actually see each other and the lines were pretty good, so the conversation went off very smoothly. I was very impressed with the Internet and the kind of technology in use that day.

What I hate about the Internet is that it brings the world to your desktop. Once that happens, you get so consumed with it, that you forget to even live in the world that exists. You forget simple things like getting out for a walk or even reading books or just getting snail mail. I hate the Internet for taking away the small pleasures of life. In that sense, I am quite old fashioned; I would love to receive handwritten letters on beautiful stationery.

Have you bought or sold anything online?
I like the Internet and I use it, but I don't trust it. I don't think I would be adventurous enough to trust the Internet with my credit cards numbers.

Any strange experiences online?
The scariest was when my PC was being hacked by someone. My CD disc tray kept opening and closing. Luckily, I could handle it and prevent damage to my PC.

Whom would you like to chat with online?
I would like to chat with a non-threatening person like the big green monster, Mr Sully, from Monsters Inc. Nothing jazzy or crazy.
