PM attends reception for Chilean Prez
March 17, 2009 15:43 IST

Nearly two months after undergoing heart bypass surgery, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] today returned to his normal engagements as he attended the official functions associated with the visit of Chilean President Michelle Bachelet.

Singh attended the ceremonial reception accorded to the visiting dignitary by President Pratibha Patil [Images] at Rashtrapati Bhavan [Images] early this morning.

After that, the Prime Minister held delegation level talks at Hyderabad House and witnessed the signing of some agreements between the two countries. His first official engagement after the surgery was his talks with President of Benin Boni Yayi [Images] on March 4.

However, those talks were held at the Prime Minister's official residence instead of Hyderabad House, which is the traditional venue for summit-level discussions.
