Terrorist acts are aimed at destroying our social fabric, undermining communal harmony and demoralise our people, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] said on Monday in Ahmedabad [Images].
We will rise to the challenge and I am confident we will be able to defeat these forces, Dr Singh said after visiting the serial blasts injured in an Ahmedabad hospital.
The PM announced Rs 3.5 lakh as ex-gratia for the next of the kin of those killed in the serial blasts and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
