Steps to resolve disputes on common areas of concern between India and Bangladesh were discussed at the four-day Border Security Force-Bangla Desh Rifles border coordination meeting in Kolkata.

Unprovoked firing, trans-border crime, women and child trafficking and infiltration were discussed at the meeting which concluded on Thursday, inspector general of BSF (South Bengal Frontier) CV Murlidhar and deputy director general of Bangladesh Rifles Brigadier General MA Bari told a joint press conference.

Bari, however, did not respond to a query if United Liberation Front of Asom leader Anup Chetia, who was operating from Bangladesh, would be handed over to India. "It was discussed during the ministry-level talks between the two countries in Delhi," Bari said.

On anti-Indian terrorists and jihadi groups operating from Bangladesh and if they had Inter Service Intelligence links, Bari said such activities were not allowed.

Murlidhar and Bari described the firing in which two BDR personnel were killed on July 17 and the death of a BSF man on Wednesday as isolated incidents. Murlidhar said the BSF had ordered a probe into the July 17 firing.

The two sides exchanged lists of Indian and Bangladeshi criminals operating in each other's territories.
