In yet another case of vigilante justice, a mob lynched an alleged rapist in a village in Bihar's Saran district, the police said on Tuesday.

Karia Sah, in his 20s, an alleged rapist was lynched by a mob after a village girl, the rape victim, told villagers that she was gangraped by three persons including Sah on the point of arms.

The mob also assaulted two other rapists Munna Mahto and Karia Raqi, who were identified by the rape victim.

According to the police in Saran, Sah, a resident of village Daroga Rai ka tola under Reviliganj police station was lynched by a mob following which he was identified by the rape victim.

The rape victim told villagers that when she crossed Saryu river by boat to collect fuelwood, she was forcibly gangraped by three men including Sah on Monday.

Her father has lodged an FIR in Reviliganj police station in this connection.

Last week, three suspected thieves were lynched by mobs in Araria and Vaishali districts.
