The Central Bureau of Investigation has secured an Interpol Red Corner Notice against Mohammed Amzad, an alleged militant of Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami, for his alleged involvement in the Mecca Masjid blast in Hyderabad.

Amzad, 24, is allegedly involved in recruiting youths from Hyderabad while they were on work permit in Saudi Arabia. The information about Amzad's involvement first surfaced during the interrogation of an Aurangabad-based engineer Niaz Nayeem, who claimed he had been recruited by Amzad in a Gulf country.

Amzad is believed to be shuttling between Gulf, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

His role in the August 25 twin blasts in Hyderabad, which killed 43 people, could not be ruled out, the sources said.

The Mecca Masjid blast had left 11 people dead in May this year.

Interpol has already issued a Red Corner notice against HuJI activist Mohammed Abdul Sahed alias Bilal, wanted for the blasts on Samjhauta Express and also a key suspect in the two terror strikes in Hyderabad this year.

Bilal, who took over the command of HuJI on October 12, 2005, has been in the list of most wanted terrorists after he masterminded a suicide attack on Andhra Pradesh police's Special Task Force's headquarters in Hyderabad that left one policeman dead.

An associate of Rasool Khan 'Party,' a Gujarat resident, Bilal's name also cropped up in connection with the killing of Gujarat Home Minister Haren Pandya.
