Suspected Communist Party of India-Maoist activists blew up a railway track on Tuesday morning in Bihar's Begusarai district under Samastipur division of East Central Railway Services on Barauni-Katihar rail route.

Services were disrupted after the blast, a railway official said in Patna.

According to police sources, no casualty or injury was reported. "A team of local police as well as Railway Protection Force personnel rushed to the blast site," police sources said.

Railway officials rushed to the site to supervise restoration work, railway sources said.

"The sabotage was caused to stop movement of trains during the 24-hour bandh in Bihar and Jharkhand call by CPI- Maoist to protest killing of four Maoist activists in Jharkhand," police sources said.

In view of Maoist bandh on Tuesday, the East Central Railway announced cancellation of three Jharkhand bound trains on Monday night and six trains on Tuesday and changed the routes of nine trains.
