Security at the twin World Trade Centre towers in downtown Mumbai has been beefed following an anonymous letter threatening to blow up the building on May 24, police said on Wednesday.

"The letter was received by the World Trade Centre on Tuesday. It threatened to blow the buildings on May 24," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone I) Brijesh Singh told PTI.

Singh added that security has been beefed up at the premises as a precaution.

He said that the letter does not give any specific reason for blowing up the twin towers situated in Cuffe Parade.
