Rajasthan minister Bhawani Joshi's son Bharat Joshi and a woman were hospitalised in Banswara district late Tuesday night after they allegedly consumed poison.

Bharat and the woman, Shalu, were first taken to the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Banswara and later shifted to Maharana Bhupal Hospital in Udaipur where their condition was said to be critical, Additional Superintendent of Police K R Rawat told PTI from Udaipur.

On Wednesday morning, Bharat was referred to the Sawai Mansingh Hospital in Jaipur, Rawat said, adding that the woman was still vomiting.

Meanwhile, R N Bairwa, chief medical and health officer of Banswara, said the minister's son was admitted to the district hospital with complaints of vomiting and restlessness. The reason of convulsion was yet to be ascertained, he added.

"I do not know whether any woman also got admitted to the hospital along with Bharat," the CMHO said, declining to give any more comments.

Quoting hospital sources, Banswara's Superintendent of Police K L Bairwa said that the duo were found unconscious in a vehicle.
