Militants made an unsuccessful bid to blow up the headquarters of 15 Rashtriya Rifles by triggering a powerful improvised explosive device blast outside the complex in Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

The device went off at village Kemah, on Sopore-Bandipora road, 70 km from Srinagar. No injuries were reported in the incident, defence sources told PTI.

Security forces have launched a search in the area for more explosive devices to ensure safety of the road, which is used by security forces and civilians.
