The Indian Embassy in Nigeria has been asked to find out the whereabouts of Murugan, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, who was allegedly kidnapped by some unknown persons from Delta state in Nigeria, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told the Assembly on Wednesday.

The Non-Resident Keralite Affairs Department was also in touch with the Indian Embassy in Nigeria to find out about
Murugan, Achuthanandan said while replying to a submssion.

Raising the matter, V Surendran Pilla (KC) said that according to Murugan's family members, he was kidnapped by
some masked persons on June 17.

The family are in a state of shock and want the state government to take up the matter with the Centre to seek his release.
