Relatives of Indian Prisoners of War, who recently visited Pakistan to locate their family members missing since the 1971 Indo-Pak war, have said they were not allowed to enter the barracks or converse with inmates.

"Neither were we allowed to enter the jail barracks nor to converse with prisoners. They just allowed us to speak to the jail superintendent and frisk the jail record," B K Suri, president, Missing Defence Personnel Association, said.

Suri, along with a 14-member team, returned from Islamabad on June 14, after searching for their missing relatives in 10 Pakistani jails.

"We have documents to prove that the missing soldiers of 1971 war are still in Pakistan jails and they don't want to
return them," Suri said.

The relatives have decided to continue the efforts to locate their kins.

Suri, whose brother Major A K Suri is believed to be housed in one of the Pakistan jails, said he still possess the
letters written by his brother from the jail.

As proof, the Association has audio recordings of Lahore [Images] Radio and articles published in Pakistan and US media
that confirms the presence of 56 Indian PoWs in Pakistan jails.

On their return, the delegation held meeting with the senior officials of the Defence Ministry.
