The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed chargesheets in three different cases relating to the Dera Sacha Sauda in an Ambala court and would apprise the Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday about the action taken by it in the cases relating to the Sirsa-based sect.

"Our investigations in the various cases against Dera Sacha Sauda are over," a senior CBI official told PTI in Chandigarh on Tuesday.

"The chargesheets have been filed in the Ambala court as it is the trial court for the CBI cases," he said adding, "we will tell the Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday about the compliance of its order by us."

Without divulging details about the chargesheets, the officer said the CBI would apprise the Punjab and Haryana high court about the action taken by it in the cases relating to the Dera Sacha Sauda.

When asked whether CBI had sought the arrest of Dera head Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, he replied in the negative.

The chargesheets filed in the court of Justice R N Bharti at Ambala pertain to the murder of Dera manager Ranjit Singh, murder of Sirsa-based journalist Ram Chander Chatterpati and alleged exploitation of women in the Dera, he said.

The senior officer said CBI was directed by the Punjab and Haryana high court to complete its investigations by July 30.

The case will come up for hearing on Wednesday in the court of Justice A K Goel.

The sect, meanwhile, charged the Punjab government with indulging in political vendetta as the Dera followers had "voted in favour of the Congress during the recent Assembly elections."
