Police have seized a vehicle with a Haryana number plate in which CCSU lecturer Kavita Rani is believed to have travelled from Bulandshahr in October before her mysterious disappearence and suspected murder.

"A Meerut police team has been sent to Mathura to check the reported Bolero jeep. If it is actually the vehicle used by Yogesh in carrying Kavita Rani before she was murdered, it will be brought here (Meerut)," Senior Superintendent of Police Navneet Sikhera said on Thursday.

He said his office had also sent letters to two TV news channels, which on Wednesday night claimed to be in possession of a CD relating to the Kavita case.

The communique had asked them to send the compact disc to his office, Sikhera said.

Police had so far been unable to recover the spy camera allegedly used by prime accused Ravindra Pradhan and Yogesh to blackmail influential people by filming them in compromising positions with Kavita, he said.
