The people in Delhi are the healthiest in the country, with a survey showing that the number of ailing persons in Delhi is lowest among all states.

According to a report prepared by the Delhi government, the morbidity rate in Delhi was estimated at 17 per 1,000 persons as compared to 99 at the national level.

The morbidity rate in Punjab was 107 per 1,000 persons, while in Haryana the figure stood at 87, in Rajasthan at 72 and 108 in Uttar Pradesh.

The report "Morbidity, Healthcare and Condition of Aged Persons in Delhi" released by Urban Development Minister A K Walia on Thursday also stated that the percentage of persons who fell ill in Delhi had reduced from 3.1 per cent in 1995-96 to 1.7 per cent during 2004.
