All pending cases against Rashtriya Janata Dal member of Parliament Mohammed Shahabuddin will be conducted by a special court constituted by the state government.
It was directed by the Patna high court during hearing of Shahabuddin's petition challenging the state government notification for constitution of a special court, court official said on Wednesday.
The court directed that all the criminal cases pending against Shahabuddin would be conducted by a special court in the premises of Siwan jail itself.
Shahabuddin is currently lodged in Siwan jail after he was shifted from New Delhi-based All India Institute of Medical Sciences following his successful surgery in November 2005.
In June 2006, the state government had constituted a special court at Siwan to conduct the cases pending against Shahabuddin.
Shahabuddin is involved in over 40 criminal cases, including murder, abduction and possession of illegal arms.
