PM, Sonia to lead Uttarakhand poll campaign

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi will lead the party's campaign in poll-bound Uttarakhand.

On February 13, Dr Singh will address rallies at Rudrapur, Pithoragarh and Haridwar, Congress spokesman Surendra Kumar said.

Sonia will travel to Garhwal region where she will address rallies on February 14 at Uttarkashi, Tehri and Srinagar. On February 16, she will fly to Haldwani and then to Almora and Haridwar.

On February 18, she will address a rally at the parade ground in Dehradun. Uttarakhand goes to polls on February 21.

Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former deputy prime minister L K Advani will be Bharatiya Janata Party's star campaigners though their final schedule is yet to be announced, party sources said.
