A court in Bihar on Tuesday sentenced 28 persons to ten years in prison for attacking Dalits at Bela in Darbhanga district 14 years ago.

District Judge Avinash Kumar Sinha found them guilty of attacking the Dalits in the village on November 25, 1992.

Special Public Prosecutor (SC and ST) Arvind Kumar Sinha said the convicts had burnt 45 houses of Dalits, looted their property and attempted to kill some of them following a land dispute.
