Satisfied and relieved on Wednesday, after the Delhi High Court sentenced her sister Jessica's murderer Manu Sharma to life imprisonment, Sabrina Lal said she was happy with the outcome, as she had never wanted capital punishment for him.

"I really could not ask God for more. All this has come as a great relief for me after all these years. The accused has been convicted and punished," Sabrina told reporters outside the High Court after the sentence was pronounced.

"The judgment is a strong one and I am sure that the Supreme Court would uphold it," she said, in reply to the possibility of the accused moving the apex court.

Sabrina said she was against death sentence to the accused and life imprisonment was what she had wished for.

"I don't believe in capital punishment. I am happy that it is life imprisonment because it is the accused who should suffer, and not his family members," she said.

Sabrina, who lost both her parents during the seven-and-a-half-year-long wait for justice, had been at the forefront of the 'Justice for Jessica' movement.
