Investigation into the shooting of an Indian engineer in Texas is on full swing and the police have announced an award of $11,000 for any information that would lead to the arrest of the killer.

Sanal Nathan, 26, a former of Texas University student and his female companion were held up on the night of November 27 outside his apartment on South Cooper Street by an unidentified man who demanded money from the couple at gunpoint.

Nathan, who was in Texas on a work visa from India, was shot at when he resisted, police said.

He died the next day at the John Peter Smith Hospital in Fortworth, Texas.

After the shooting the suspect fled. Investigators believe the couple was randomly targeted.

The police have asked anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to call Safe City Commission Crime Stoppers or Detective Tommy Le Noir.

All informants will remain anonymous, the police said. The gunman is described as a tall black male in his 20s with a slender build.
