The National Awards are out.

And this has been a mixed bag too, with Priyanandan's Malayalam film Pulijanmam bagging the National Award for Best Film, while Rajkumar Hirani's Lage Raho Munnabhai got the Best Popular Film award.

The Best Actor award went to Soumitra Chatterjee for his role in the Bengali film Podokkhep. The Best Actress award was given to Priya Mani for her role in Ameer Sulthan's Paruthiveeran [Images].

Konkona Sen Sharma [Images] bagged the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in Vishal Bhardwaj's Omkara [Images] while Dilip Prabhavalkar bagged the Best Supporting Actor award for his role as Gandhi in Lage Raho Munnabhai [Images].

Music director Shantanu Moitra [Images] bagged the Best Music award for Lage Raho Munnabhai.

The Indira Gandhi [Images] award for the Best First Film went to Kabir Khan's Kabul Express [Images]. Khosla Ka Ghosla [Images] bagged the Best Film (Hindi) award. The Best Director award went to Madhur Bhandarkar for Traffic Signal [Images].
