The pay scales of heads and members of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) have been revised.

This was decided on at a meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Home Minister P Chidambaram said the Cabinet gave its nod to revise the salary of chairman and members of the UPSC and that of the Central Vigilance Commissioner and Vigilance Commissioners in the Commission.

The new scales have been approved in light of the sixth pay commission recommendations.

The Cabinet also approved an External Affairs Ministry proposal for signing an agreement between India and Macedonia for exemption of visa requirements for diplomatic passport holders.
