Flight operations from Mumbai, which has been hit by worst-ever terror attack, largely remained unaffected, except for cancellation of five services by four international airlines.

The services of most of the Indian carriers -- Air India, SpiceJet, Jet Airways [Get Quote], Jetlite -- remained unaffected, with flights to and from Mumbai operating in accordance with their normal schedule.

Vijay Mallya-owned Kingfisher had combined one flight each on Delhi-Mumbai, Bangalore-Mumbai, Hyderabad-Mumbai and Nashik-Mumbai sectors with other flights on the same routes.

The airlines has decided to combine four flights on Delhi-Mumbai sector, and one on Delhi-Bangalore sector with other flights on the same route on Friday.

Five of the four international flights -- two of Germany's flagship carrier Lufthansa, one each of Air France, US Delta and Northwest -- from Mumbai were cancelled.

Lufthansa's flight LH 756 from Frankfurt to Mumbai was diverted to New Delhi due to the situation in India's financial capital, an airlines spokesperson said, adding the passengers and crew members were sent to hotels.

The airlines has cancelled it Mumbai-Frankfurt flight (LH757), while its Frankfurt-Mumbai and Munich-Mumbai also remained cancelled.

One flights each of Air France to Paris, US' Delta Airlines to Seattle and Northwest were also cancelled as the crew members could not reach the airport on time.

In the wake of heightened security situation, airlines have asked passengers to report well before the flights' departure.

"Passengers are advised to carry a valid identification document and report to the airlines counter well in advance from the scheduled departure," Jet spokesperson said.

Jet has also announced waiver of cancellation and reissue charges on tickets of the flights operating in and out of Mumbai for Thursday and Friday.

Also, low cost carriers - SpiceJet and Jetlite - have decided not to charge itinerary change fee.
