Dabhol power plant output was down by 300 MW after a technical snag was reported on Saturday, Power Secretary Anil Razdan said on Monday.

The Dabhol plant in Maharashtra, run by Ratnagiri Gas and Power Pvt Ltd and which was running at a capacity of 1,100-1,200 MW, is now generating 900 MW.

The capacity was to be scaled up to 1,880 MW.

Razdan told reporters on the sidelines of the launch of Power Exchange India Ltd that a gas turbine stopped functioning on Saturday due to 'catastrophic failure'.
