Ahead of his meeting with WTO Director General Pascal Lamy in Beijing on Tuesday, Commerce Minister Kamal Nath said on Monday that India and China were working together to create a new 'architecture and pattern' of multilateral negotiations.

"India and China do not necessarily have same sensitivities but both having a large agricultural base had similar concerns," Nath told in Beijing.

The mutual cooperation in WTO was reviewed at a meeting between Nath and his Chinese counterpart Chen Deming.

To a question on the issues to come up with Lamy on Tuesday, he said India was committed to the WTO system and multilateral trading system which were important.

Nath, who is part of the delegation accompanying Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his three-day maiden visit, said the current round of trade negotiations should be completed.
