As a mark of deep respect and immense gratitude to the officers who laid down their lives for the country in the recent Mumbai terrorist attack, Country Club India Ltd has announced Rs 1 crore (Rs 10 million) to the families of the martyred officers.

Saraswat Bank said that it would offer a job to one member each of the families of the police officers and constables slain in the terrorist outrage.

"The country would forever remain indebted to these officers who made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland," CCIL chairman, Y Rajeev Reddy, said.

Reddy pointed out that through this gesture, CCIL salutes the valour, spirit and service of the heroic officers.

"While no help or support will ever alleviate the trauma of the family members of the departed souls, the Saraswat Bank hereby offers to take in its service at appropriate level, one member each, of the immediate families of the brave police officers and police constables who laid there lives," Saraswat Bank's Chairman, Ekanath K Thakur, said.

Saraswat Bank will depute its officials to the families of the brave officers, soldiers and constables and will see and ensure what best can be done to help support the families concerned, Thakur said.
