Industry bodies support BangaloreIT.in

Different industry and trade bodies have extended their support to BangaloreIT.in, the premier annual IT event organised by the Karnataka government and STPI.

The three-day event will be inaugurated on the 29th of October in the premises of Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).

The organisers have announced that the event will be supported by Indian

Semiconductor Association (ISA), The Indus Entrepreneurs, Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Electronic City Industries' Association, Indian Angel Network, Consortium of Electronics Industries of Karnataka, Manufactures' Association of Information Technology, Computer Society of India, and the Bangalore Forum of IT.

"We are encouraged by the support of industry bodies and trade organisations for BangaloreIT.in 2007. This will be an ideal opportunity for the IT industry to come together and showcase the unique IT ecosystem that we have developed over the years," M N Vidyashankar, secretary, IT & BT, Government of Karnataka said in a statement.

According to Poornima Shenoy, president, ISA, the conference will be an important platform for the semiconductor industry to display the high-end capabilities that the industry has built in the country.

ISA's vision is to establish India as the preferred global hub for excellence in creation of semiconductor products through technology leadership. 

Some of the key initiatives of ISA include building a brand for the Indian semiconductor industry, meet the need for human capital and sustained R&D efforts through collaborations with universities and academic institutions as well as interface with the government to create an eco-system for the Indian semiconductor industry through policies.
