The services of government-owned Indian may be disrupted on Friday on account of employees' protests over wage arrears. Trailers of the stir could be visible on Thursday at international airports of Thiruvanathapuram and Kolkata.
On Friday, 14,000 employees affiliated to the Air Corporation Employees' Union have threatened to take mass casual leave if their demands were not met.
Employees of Indian affiliated to the Air Corporation Employees Union abstained from duty for about two-and-half hours on Thursday morning at the international airport in Thiruvananthapuram.
The employees 'walked out of duty' from 9 am to 11.30 am, union sources said. However, there were no flight services during the period of the agitation, they said. Operation department and reservation front line officers were among those who took part in the protest.
Kolkata protest: Members of the Air Corporation Employees Union demonstrated at Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International airport in Kolkata on Thursday to press for their demands, including revision of pay scale.
The demonstration by the ACEU members between 9 am and 11.30 am, however, did not affect the Indian's operation of flights, airlines sources said.
