'I would like to be a space ship'

Although Rakhee Nagpal, managing director, Dynamic Vertical Solutions, aspires to have a state-of-the-art home theatre system, she isn't too sure if she would have the time to watch movies on it. Nagpal loves her Mini Cooper S, a car that has achieved near-cult status in the West. And she would love to be a space ship.

What are your favourite gadgets?

It would have to be my BlackBerry and the iPod which is complemented by Bose Diamond speakers.

Which gadget do you really want to buy?

I would like to have a dream home theatre system with high-end projector and a mixing console. And then I just have to find the time to watch movies.

What kind of gadget do you dream of building?

I would like to build a remote so that, when I am 15 minutes away from home, at a click of a button, the lights will come on; it will start the microwave to cook, set water at the right temperature and switch on the music and TV.

If you were a gadget, what would you choose to be?

I would like to be a space ship because then I could explore galaxies that are far and beyond the realm of human imagination

What has been your most embarrassing moment while exhibiting your technical skills?

Every small operational hiccup is an embarrassment and with Murphy's law it always happens with me when it should not.

Which of your gadgets was a waste of money?

My massage chair, which was one of the first models that was launched but I think it just did not serve the purpose.

Tell us about one gadget that you had fun with.

I am a Sony PlayStation fan, but when it comes to Nintendo Wii, the intuitive controls make it more innovative than PS3.

What has been your costliest buy to date?

That would be a Mini Cooper S, a car which is fun.
