Colored Notes to help animate SMSes

CanvasM, the joint venture between Tech Mahindra and Motorola, has unveiled its first innovation centre in Noida for its value-added services (VAS).

CanvasM said that within the next 6 months it will launch Colored Notes, a mobile phone messaging application, in India. Colored Notes will enable users to animate their text messages via emoticons.

CanvasM is also working on mobile wallet application that will replace credit cards and allow payment of bills by moving handsets over scanners installed at payment counters / cash registers.

The CanvasM Innovation Centre would help retail and corporate customers address their revenue generation requirements through the use of VAS, CanvasM said in a statement here. The new centre would feature a portfolio of applications comprising of mobile commerce, entertainment among others, it added.

"CanvasM has built the innovation centre to promote innovation and allow our customers to experience and pilot the applications without incurring major investments," CanvasM CEO Jagdish Mitra said.

"Partnering Motorola, we at Tech Mahindra are ensuring that CanvasM will enable our customers, with the tools and services to create additional revenue streams," Tech Mahindra president C P Gurnani.
