CNG dealers in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai region have threatened to go on strike from midnight of March 14 on the issue of dealer margin being given to them by the oil PSUs.

"The issue of CNG margin was discussed and resolved with Petroleum Minister Murli Deora on September 19, 2006.

License fee, which was unilaterally and wrongly deducted from CNG dealer margin, was reinstated by 16 paise per kg from October 1, 2006, with the directive of the ministry," Petrol Dealer's Association Mumbai, President Ravi Shinde said.

But only Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and IBP reinstated the CNG dealer margin, while Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum refused to reinstate the deducted CNG margin from the earning of CNG dealer, he added.

With no response to the communication sent by the dealers, the association has decided to go on an agitation, said Shinde.
