Satyam Computer Services [Get Quote] has signed two multi-million dollar contracts to support FIFA, the international governing body of football, and its major forthcoming events.

As per the contract, Satyam would develop a customised event management system and build extranet and intranet over the next 12 months.

"We are delighted to have been chosen to deliver such critical applications for FIFA, and are committed to ensuring the success of managing its event logistics and extranets/intranet platforms," said Satyam's head of European operations, senior vice-president, director Keshab Panda.

The company's partnership would also include full, uninterrupted support for both solutions until the final whistle of each game, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Satyam would be working primarily from FIFA's Zurich headquarters and would provide in-country support for matches.

It would also have teams working from offshore locations to enable lower costs.
