Retail chain Subhiksha plans to add 200 stores in the country that would create 12,000 jobs within the next few months as it seeks to expand rapidly.

"We employ 18,000 people directly and indirectly and plan to add nearly 12,000 people by the end of this fiscal to take the total number to 30,000," Subhiksha Retail's president Manpower Shashi Kanth said on the sidelines of a retail conference.

The company would also take the total number of stores in the country to 1,000 by September this year, he said.
