Moser Baer India posted a whopping 188 per cent rise in net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2006, to touch Rs 37.62 crore on the back of good sales of its digital video discs.
On a sequential basis too, the optical storage device major's net profit grew 44.9 per cent indicating the strength in recovery of operating parameters.
Gross revenue of the company also rose 19.1 per cent to Rs 523.33 crore in the third quarter over the previous corresponding quarter's figure. Its EBITDA surged 47.5 per cent to Rs 163.37 crore compared with the figure in the third quarter of 2005-06 and 12.3 per cent on a sequential basis, indicating a sharp improvement in operating efficiencies.
The EBITDA margin (excluding other income) at 30 per cent in the third quarter of the current financial year rose 722 basis points over the corresponding figure of last year and 332 basis points on a sequential basis, driven by improved product mix and higher efficiency.
