Internet Protocol communications provider Net4 on Thursday introduced new pre-paid calling cards, which will allow users to make a call to the US, the UK, Canada and over other 40 countries for just a rupee per minute.

Under the 'One World' plan, Net4 subscribers need to have access to a PC with an Internet connection or a VoIP (voice over internet protocol) device like an adapter.

The cards would be available in the denominations of Rs 250, Rs 500 and Rs 1,000, a company release said in New Delhi.

It also launched 'Gulf Gold' calling cards, which will connect over 150 Gulf and European countries at a flat rate of Rs 8 per minute.

"This offering will make international calls economical and prove beneficial to corporates, SMEs and the business process outsourcing segment in reducing their ISD bills up to 95 per cent," Net4 CEO Jasjit Sawhney said.

"We are expecting to add 150,000 subscribers in this year. As a major call centre destination, India stands to gain a lot from voice communication over Internet. Our One World plan will be a cost effective solution for small BPO outfits where significant amount of work depends on outbound calls."
