Govt to take steps to curb inflation

The government is concerned over inflation and would take all steps for moderating it.

Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday announced this while presenting the Union Budget for 2007-08.

The average inflation in FY'07 will be 5.2-5.4 per cent.

Inflation during 2006-07 estimated at between 5.2 and 5.4 per cent against 4.4 per cent during the previous year.
