Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi criticised the Union Budget on Wednesday by terming it as 'directionless'.

"The common man on whose name the United Progressive Alliance is enjoying power at the Centre, is lost in this budget. It seems, the Congress has not done strategic planning to curb inflation," he added.

Taking a dig at Finance Minister P Chidamabaram, Modi said, "He has been talking about 'growth without tears' but this budget will give 'tears without growth' to the people."

He said the Union government has not introduced any integrated plan for development of agriculture sector which is the backbone of our economy.

The finance minister has also not announced anything for the tribals of the country, Modi added.
