What is the existing structure for supply of raw materials to factories?

All the raw material to our Vikhroli factory  is sent by the suppliers.

To our factories at Shirwal and Mohali we have a 3 PL partner who does a milk run to various vendors located in the vicinity, consolidates and supplies material to the production line.

What are the problems in logistics you face and how do you combat these?

Logistics service providers are mostly unorganised and have a long way to go to catch up with the world leaders, however there has been a lot of change seen in the last two years and slowly our players in the industry are catching up with the world leaders.

What is the degree of automation used, based on which IT package?

We have a End to End Baan ERP working.

How much is the cost of logistics in the company's operation?

Approximately 4.5-5 per cent is the total logistics cost.

How much of logistics is in-house and how much is outsourced?

Approx 95 per cent of the logistics operations are in house operations. We have CNF agents operating very selectively.

What is the average cargo handled?

The primary distribution network uses approximately 20,000 vehicles annually while around  40,000 vehicles are used for secondary movement annually.

What is the transport mix?

We basically use road transportation. However, Railways are extensively used for dispatches to eastern locations. Powered by
