Motorola to launch 15 new models in India

Mobile manufacturer Motorola is planning to introduce around 10-15 new models for the Indian market this year, including `Motorokr' and `MotoQ' for the upper segment of the market.

Launching its first Motostore in Mumbai on Wednesday, which would offer access to interactive experiences as well as personalised services such as mobile phone tattoos and phone etching services, Lloyd Mathias, marketing director, Motorola said, "We would launch around 10-15 new models this year and also introduce, Motorokr E6 and Moto Q for the Indian market."

'Motorokr E6' is expected to be launched in the second quarter of this year. Currently, we have has 30 models in the market, he added.

Motorola India would set up its first manufacturing unit at Sriperambudur in Chennai, which becomes operational later this year. Currently, the company is contract manufacturing all its products.

Elaborating the company's new marketing campaign Mathias said, Motorola has entered into a joint marketing with all operators which include Hutch, Airtel, Idea, BSNL and Tata Indicom.

The company's advertising campaign with Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan has also helped the company communicate and establish its brand in the market, he said.
