HCL Technologies said on Tuesday it has entered into a strategic partnership with Canada-based insurance company Eckler to strengthen its insurance domain expertise.

Under the alliance, HCL and Eckler will work together on various actuarial consulting and implementation projects across the globe, a company statement said in New Delhi.

The partnership would leverage capabilities of both organisations in actuarial services, IT consulting and implementation, it added.

"The partnership is reflective of our commitment to grow our financial services business through excellence in domain," HCL Financial Services Corporate Officer and Global Head S PremKumar said.

Actuaries help in designing insurance plans, determining the premium, monitor the profitability of insurance companies and recommend corrective action when appropriate.
