Budget session to start on Feb 23

The three-month long Budget session of Parliament will commence on February 23 and the general budget would be presented by Finance Minister P Chidambaram on February 28.

Minister for Railways Lalu Prasad will present the rail budget on February 26, which will be followed by tabling of the Economic Survey the next day.

The first phase of the session will continue till March 21, Parliamentary Affairs Minister P R Dasmunsi said.

There will be a recess between March 22 and April 17. The session to resume on April 18 and will continue till May 22, he said.

The government's recommendation has been sent to President A P J Abdul Kalam, he said.
