There is no proposal to raise the retirement age of central government employees from 60 to 62.

This was clarified on Monday by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Ministry of Personnel.

The clarification came in the wake of reports appearing in some sections of the media regarding raising the retirement age of central government employees.

"In order to put at rest all such speculations, it is clarified that there is no such proposal before the government," the DoPT said in a statement.
