The Indian team management dispelled all speculation about Anil Kumble's [Images] fitness, saying the captain is fully fit and that is why he returned to the field and bowled during Day 4 of the first Test against Australia [Images] in Bangalore.

"Anil had a sore shoulder, so he stayed off just as a precautionary measure," India's fielding coach Robin Singh said at the end of the day's play on Sunday.

Kumble underwent treatment on his right shoulder after feeling slight pain while batting during the morning session. He was off the field for quite a while and returned to bowl only in the 54th over of the Australian second innings, but did not make an impact, like was the case in the first innings.

The leggie has bowled 50 overs in both innings, at the cost of 141 runs, but failed to pick a wicket.

But Singh assured that he is fine now and will resume normal duties on the fifth day.

"He is available for the rest of the series," he added.
