English county side Middlesex have cancelled their flight to India on Thursday for the inaugural Twenty20 [Images] Champions League after a series of attacks in the financial capital Mumbai.

Local television said gunmen had killed at least 80 people and troops had begun moving into one of two five-star hotels on Thursday where Western hostages were being held.

Middlesex captain Shaun Udal told Sky Sports News on Wednesday the team would not be travelling as planned on Thursday.

"All we know is our flight has been cancelled in the morning," Udal said.
