Australia's batting trump card Michael Hussey must be a bit disappointed after being taken over by Chennai for US $250,000, while his younger and inexperienced brother David bagged more than double the price from Shah Rukh Khan's [Images] Kolkata team.

The West Indian batting duo of Ramnaresh Sarwan [Images] and Shivnarine Chanderpaul [Images] went to Mohali and Bangalore respectively commanding figures of US $225,000 and US $200,000.

Kolkata shored up it's wicketkeeping department with the purchase of Zimbabwe's Tatenda Taibu for US $125,000, while South Africa's Twenty20 specialist Loots Bosman was grabbed by Mumbai for US $150,000.

Former Australia opener Justin Langer was bought by Jaipur for US $200,000, while compatriot Simon Katich was purchased by Mohali for US $200,000 in last minute dealings in the players auction.

Pakistan's veteran batsman Mohammad Yousuf [Images] was withdrawn from the auction after the rebel Indian Cricket League sent legal notice to all eight franchises asking them not to bid for Yousuf. Ashwell Prince was also withdrawn from the auction, which meant a total of 77 players out of 79 were bought for their reserve prices.
